Optimizer has come a long way with your love and cooperation. We like to think, we have eased the way our users build websites by improving the Optimizer with each update. We are very excited to announce some new features in the latest version of Optimizer.
Advanced inline editor in Customizer
We are very happy to announce the new advanced inline editor that lets you edit widget content right on the customizer preview panel. After inserting a widget click on the widget text on right panel to bring up the inline editor. After making the changes click the “Save” button from the inline editor toolbar and your edited content will be synced. With this editor you can easily add/edit buttons and columns shortcodes too.
Newsletter Widget
In this version we also added a Newsletter widget that will let you collect email subscribers with ease. The Widget Supports Mailchimp, aWeber, Get response form code. The widget also has 4 presets built in.
15 More Widget Presets
In this version we added 15 More Preset Widgets. If you do not know what widget presets are and how to use them, here is short brief on Preset widget. Preset widgets are widgets templates that you can insert in your page and then configure according to your needs. From the Widgets Selection panel, select on the + button on each widget to see the presets of that widget. Click the preset to import that preset widget. It may take a few seconds.
Customizer UI Changes
Customizer Interface has been improved to make it more intuitive. The left panel width has been Increase on larger displays. Widget selection panel has been revamped and widget presets has been integrated in each widgets for better accessibility.
Schema Markup
The SEO panel now has a new feature – Schema. Schema markup is necessary to improve how your site appears in search engines. When you go to Appearance > Customize > Miscellaneous > SEO and enable schema, the basic schema markup is automatically applied to all pages.
Enhanced Boxed Layout
A new option has been introduced to make the Boxed layout mode more flexible. Go to Customize > Basic > Site layout and select “Boxed” layout to reveal a new “Keep Header & Footer Full Width”. When you enable this, the Header and footer will be full width when you resize the boxed width.
Force Display Page Header in Widgetized Pages
One of the most ask questions for widgetized page was, “How to enable the page header when I add widgets to a page”. By default when you added widgets to a page, the page header disappears. From this version onward, you will be able to force display the page header on those pages by enabling the “Enable Page Header in Widgetized Pages” from Customize > Post & Page > Page Header Settings.
Enhanced Widgets
Nivo Slider Widget now has a timing option as requested by few users. This will enable you to increase the default pause time (4 milliseconds) and display each slide for longer period of time.
The Video Widget now has a Border option that you can enable to display a border around your video.
Bug Fixes
We have also fixed lots of bugs in this version. You can check out the change log of this version here.
How to Update
Go to Appearance -> Themes to update the theme to the latest version. Make sure you have your license key inserted from Appearance > Optimizer License; otherwise you won’t be able to update the theme. Please make sure you backup your theme and widget options before updating the theme.
